stop! over :)

13 Days to go....wohoooo ;-) Time to get a little more into it. So first step: How do I get there? The flightplan says: Frankfurt - Bahrain - Sydney. Buuuuuut what the hell is Bahrain, may the most of you think. To be honest, I just knew it before due to the fact there's a formula 1 competition once a year on the Bahrain Circuit. But otherwise I wouldn't have recognized it either. So have a look at the left....learn where it's located....and tell everybody you learned something while reading my blog ;-) And before finishing class for today, some more facts: Capital: Manama (dududududu), Temperature: 24 degrees, Head of State: King Hamad ibn Isa Al Chalifa, Neighbours: Saudi Arabia (West), Quatar (South/East) & Member of the Arabian League

And tomorrow we're going to learn the national anthem of Bahrain ;-)

waltzing matilda...

Few days ago I talked to Rosa, a good friend of mine, who's down under since a couple of days visiting her best friend. She told me again that Sophie and Andrew said it would be no problem staying with them, when I'm down there. But I still don't know wether I could adopt this offer. I really appreciate it but I don't want to cause any inconvenience... So I'm still looking for some online-adds. But I guess I have to cope with plan b since nearly every guy from the adds tells me to "come on over and have a look". Sure...I'll be there tomorrow afternoon.. ;-)

Three days ago just realized that one of my fellow students will also do an internship down under. Same time, different place (find Georg's link in my Blogroll). Pretty cool. Guess I have to visit him up there in Brisbane :)

Really should continue learning...even if concentrating gets harder every day. I want to go to Sydney! (that's a pun - don't mind^^).

The Beginning

Yes! Yes! Yes!

That's what I thought when I received the email telling me that I got the internship in Sydney. And now it's less than a month left till takeoff. As time goes by...

But why am I so happy going down there? Well, since I've been a little child, I always dreamed about going to Australia. I always had a poster of Uluru (and still have) on one of my walls and sweared that I won't take it off untill I've been there. During the past years the passion for Australia grew more and more (thx to tv shows like the crocodile hunter, a lot of books and the www). But due to the fact that going down, living there and studying is pretty expensive I wasn't able to afford it till now. Now I have to do an internship during my studies at University. So why not Down Under? My only chance to get there. And, after weeks of applying, it looks like my dream comes true.

I will start at 5th March with an 6 month internship at Amblique in Surry Hills, NSW. Furthermore I hope I can do a little travelling afterwards. Along the Gold Coast maybe. But let's see what happens. I'm really looking forward :-)
